The Effect of Entrepreneur Characteristics on Enforcing Strategic Capabilities: An Empirical Study at Jordan Telecommunication Sector

Abstract:
The study aimed to identify the Impact of Entrepreneur Characteristics (initiative, flexibility, achievement, innovation, risk taking, and independence) on enhancing Strategic Capabilities for employees at Jordanian Telecommunication Sector, it also aimed to identify if there significant differences of enhancing Strategic Capabilities at Jordanian Telecommunication Sector due to demographic variables (age, scientific qualification, number of experience years, and job title). The study population consisted of mobile telecommunication companies working at Jordan which count (3 companies): (zain, orange, and omneya company), the study population unit included upper and medium and low levels (executive managers, general managers, department managers, and head of units) from both genders and all administrative units, who count (300) person. And because the number of study population was not big, the researcher included all the study population unit as a study sample. The researcher used the (SPSS) package in order to test the study hypotheses, and after collecting the study data and analyzing them, the study concluded that there is a medium level of Entrepreneur Characteristics (initiative, flexibility, achievement, innovation, risk taking, and independence) for employees at Jordanian Telecommunication Sector; there is a medium- high level of Strategic Capabilities at Jordanian Telecommunication Sector; there is a significant impact of Entrepreneur Characteristics (initiative, flexibility, achievement, innovation, risk taking, and independence) on enhancing Strategic Capabilities: an Empirical Study at Jordanian Telecommunication Sector; and there is a significant differences of enhancing Strategic Capabilities at Jordanian Telecommunication Sector due to demographic variables (age, scientific qualification, number of experience years, and job title). According to the study conclusions, the researcher presented many recommendations based on these conclusions as necessity of ensuring Entrepreneur Characteristics at all different companies and organizations, in order to enforce the innovation spirit, and developing skills and behavioral characteristics for employees at these companies, and Enforcing Strategic Capabilities; necessity of supporting the Entrepreneur culture at company and encouraging employees to be initiative, and presenting new ideas on their jobs; and necessity of focusing on scientific research and development department at Telecommunication Sector in order to develop employees capabilities and improve the quality of services presented for customers. capabilities.
