Abstract: The current article pursues arguments in flavor of improving the judiciary system in Romania by strengthening the professions that offer alternatives to state justice. Lawsuits on family law can lead to emotional and financial imbalances in the long term, in the context in which we witness the overcrowding of the courts by increasing the volume of cases and maintain a low level of human resources. In the following pages it is presented the applicability of mediation in resolving conflicts and disputes arising in the family environment, especially in cases of divorce and its accompanying procedures.
