Abstract: Central element of our medical system are the insured persons. With their contributions they finance a dominant part of the system. And with their individual behaviour patients contribute an important part to the dynamics of the system within the political framework. With their decisions making they have increasingly adopted the role of a consumer, for example for individual “health efforts”. This article gives a first impression of the motivation and the background of such consumer decisions. The analysis is based on the data of the new FFB patient-survey.
