Abstract: Presented are projections for the year I98i and the year 2000, projections based upon the currently ongoing Stjjdi Perspektif Jangka Panjang Perekonomian Indonesia Tahun 2000, the study.of the long term perspectives of Indonesia's economy for the year 2000 conducted uYider the supervision of the author of the present article. Data from that study that are used here have been revised by a team of the Institute for Economic and Social Research of the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia, led by M. Arsjad Anwar. In this context the author cautions that the main purpose of the Studi PJP-2000 is the identification of major problem areas that must be dealt with between now and the year 2000. The quantitative analysis is aimed at illustrating the magnitude of those problems and should not be considered predictions or forecasts.
