Abstract: This article is attempt to outline the scope of Economic Law within the Indonesian legal system. To arrive at a definition a comparative study has been made of the definition and scope of economic law in the Dutch, the Belgian and the French legal systems, further contrasted to the Russian logal system. It was found that, although some similarities were found, the definitions and scope of Economic Law in the various legal systems differed according to their economic, social, historical - and philosophical backgrounds.
