Upah dan Elastisitas Substitusi Kapital Terhadap Tenaga Kerja

Economics and Finance in Indonesia, 1986, vol. 34, 229-250
Abstract:
This paper shows that real wages in Indonesia were increasing for the agricultural sector in 1976 - 1981 and for the industrial sector in 1975 1982. The rates of their increases were higher than the growth rate of the economy for the corresponding period. These facts contracdict to the classical theory as Indonesia facing surplus of labour. The author says this might due to the price reservation of labour in the agricultural sector, because of the existence of work-sharing system. For the industrial sector might due to technological change in the process of production toward using more capital especially for those which previously were less capital intensive
