Abstract: A method for deriving monthly data from annual data is presented in this paper. Using linear interpolation in the first stage and iterative regression in the second one, the method is designed mainly for flow variables, such gross domestic product, investment, etc. Variables chosen as argument in the regression stage could be based on theoretical considerations, well as trend and seasonal factors. In the empirical part of the paper, author applies his method for obtaining monthly GDP data from annual one.
