Abstract:
Diesel fuel is one of strategic commodities (energy) that their prices and distributions administered by the government. But up to now the impacts of diesel fuel price adjustment on farmings have been practically neglected. This paper presents an econometric analysis of the impacts of diesel fuel price adjustment on rice farming production and profit. The impact elasticity is -0.2277 for rice production and -0.3966 for rice farming profit. Clearly, the diesel fuel price adjustment causes significant effects both on rice production and rice farmers' income. These effects should be taken into consideration in any fuel energy price policy formulation.
