Abstract: Indonesia today is m the second phase of rts twenty-five-year development plans (PJP II). For these second twenty-fwe-year developmera fdanSr distrdnttion and decentralization become the major issues in the deveiopment process. It means that the regfonal development plays an important rote in supporting the development process in Inchnesia, Tins article tells much about the regnal development in Indonesia, particularly the disparity among regions. To enhance the economic growth m regions, the author suggests the government to (1) give an irKenttve m order to attract private companies to invest m the n^kmsf (2) simplify the bureaucracy systems that are still an obstacle; (3) develop economic sectors hosed on the potential and availahtlipy of resources m the regions and (4) integrate socio-ctdttmU condition in the regional planning
