Abstract:
Quality of human resources plays an important role in production process. Unfortunately, incorporating the quality of workers into production function is very difficult. A method often used by researcher, is by introducing a new variable in production function. This approach, for example, is used by Nazara (1994) hi incorporating an index of length of schooling as one of explanatory variable in aggregate production function. Another approach, which is presented in this article, is O-Ring production function proposed by Kremer (1993). In this approach, it is assumed that production process involves several tasks, each of which requires differing quality of workers.
