Abstract:
One of the key strategies to recover from economic crisis is by encouraging export of commodities that use a lot of domestic input, such as natural rubber. In Indonesia most of the supply of natural rubber comes from smallholders. The recent monetary crisis had reduced the purchasing power of Indonesim people. But the interesting question is lohat is the impact of the monetary crisis on the rubber smallholder? The depreciation of the rupiah gives a lot of incentive for the smallholder rubber. The other positive impact was the fenomena of increasing new planting or replanting done by smallholder rubber.
