Abstract:
A study on business communities’ perceptions on competition and cooperation is the initial step to an important process of identifying the “right” competition for the country. This study provide useful information that can be used to build competitive characters which OECD (2003) acknowledged as a fundamental phase in the transition to a market economy. This paper backs the notion that an interdisciplinary approach in analyzing economic issues may provide better results than a strictly economic point of view. The results of this study support Vries theory (2001) which explained an individual perception as a filter in a person’s economic decision-making, and therefore becomes an indispensable factor in every economic analysis. These results also agree with Robbins (1998) who said that a perception is significantly influence a person’s behavior, and with Elster (1996) who suggested that every explanation of human behavior and interaction should consider the influence of the person’s norms and values.
