Abstract: In school, mutual help relationships among students seem to be closely connected to the emotional states they perceive in their peers, as they usually have a personal way of interpreting these states, which does not necessarily stimulate them to help each other with a view to studying in a collaborative way. There are programs meant to raise their awareness with respect to this kind of approach, but the effect remains quite limited. As a consequence, the connection between emotions and learning is definitely worth being treated differently, laying a special stress on the time factor which could play an essential role. This is the conclusion reached in this article, not without having initially specified what has to be understood by “emotional skills”.
