Abstract: Through this paper the author intends to analyze the amendments of the new regulation in the field of the Civil law – the general part, the natural and the legal persons and the rights in rem and in the area of the private international law. The new Civil Code, adopted by Law no. 287/2009, amended by Law no. 71/2011 for the application of the new Civil Code and by the Emergency Government Ordinance no. 79/2011 for regulating some necessary measures for the coming into effect of Law no. 287/2009 regarding the Civil Code, has entered into force on 01.10.2011. This Code has reformed profoundly the Romanian legal system, being a modern instrument for regulating the fundamental aspects of the individual and social existence, by using the experience of the reforms made by othe states (Italy, France, Canada – Quebec province, the Netherlands, Spain), and also the dispositions of European and international instruments. Passing over his imperfections, the new Civil Code is welcomed in the contemporary legislative scenery, reuniting, in an up-to-date language, regulations pertaing to the fields of the private law – Civil law (general part, the natural and the legal entities, the rights in rem, the obligations, the contracts, the successions), Family law, Commercial law, Private international law. Its implementation will answer the questions of the speciality literature authors regarding the application of certain disputed or unclear provisions.
