Abstract: 2012 is the European Year for Active Aging and Intergenerational Solidarity. The concept of active aging seems to be the cornerstone of future European approach to employment policies and working to resolve issues raised by global aging. What does this concept mean and what it entails in Europe where the risks and challenges of aging are at highest level? How well known is it acquired in Romania, especially by social policy generators? There are two questions to what this study will try to answer using the comparative analysis discursive textual method of European and Romanian approaches.
