Abstract:
The profound changes that have taken place in social field since 1989 have had significantly influenced in the social work system for people with special needs. For a long time, in Romania, virtually did not exist people with special needs. Often they were hidden from the eyes of the world by institutions and nobody knew what was going on, or were kept in the shadows in their own families. These individuals had no rights, no obligations, no facilities and so their constituional rights were violated. In this article we will review a part of the definitions that are specific to this category. We think it is essential to understand the basic concepts and so we could create powerfull projects for social intergration of the main group.
