Fiscal Policy in Postwar Japan

Abstract: The rapid growth of the Japanese economy subsequent to its postwar recovery was accompanied by significant cyclical fluctuations. An evaluation of the role that Japanese public finance as an economic stabilization policy played in this cyclical growth process is the subject of this report. (1)
