Abstract:
Of the three basic needs of life — food, clothing, and shelter — the Japanese are most dissatisfied with shelter. A February 1975 public opinion survey by the Center for National Living reveals that 17.9 percent of respondents were dissatisfied with food conditions, 21.8 percent with clothing conditions, and 36.3 percent with housing conditions. People at all income levels hope for improvement in their housing.
