The Impact of Automotive Tariffs on the Tennessee Economy

Abstract: Tariffs on Either German or Japanese automotive imports at the levels mooted would have very large consequences for the Tennessee economy. We estimate short and long-run impacts on auto production, state unemployment, and total state economy under various tariff scenarios.
