Abstract: An important discussion was held between Napoleoni, Mattioli and Sraffa immediately after the publication "Production of Commodities" in 1960. The relevant document are herewith published and presented for the first time. They greatly help to understand two major issues: the interpretation of the Classical theory of value, and the meaning of the standard commodity.
