Abstract:
Two recent decisions by the Milan prosecutors provided further evidence of how difficult it si to enforce the prohibition on insider trading in Italy. Enriques and Macchiati discuss these decisions, reflecting on what kind of sanctions and ancillary prohibitions may effectively prevent insiders from trading on private information.
