Abstract:
This article explores the factors that encourage or hinder the development of techno-créative industries – combining the arts and digital technologies – in local areas. It highlights the importance of existing knowledge bases, but also the role that the public sector can play in orchestrating interacions between these two sectors. To illustrate these dynamics, this research is based on a comparison between Montreal (Canada) and Nantes (France).
