Abstract:
Education and development of human resources and their lifelong learning has a significant importance both for IT- companies as well as their staff. The transition to a knowledge society, rapid development of the IT- sector, globalization are the challenges that require a new approach to education, training and lifelong learning. The IT- labor market has a shortage of staff with the necessary knowledge, skills and competences, which seems to be a real long-term trend. The limited number of qualified personnel is a major obstacle to the expansion of the IT- industry in our country. As a consequence of this, within the Lifelong Learning concept, continuing vocational training becomes more and more important and also provides opportunities to increase knowledge, skills and competencies of the IT- sector employees. In this context, the purpose of the present research is to study the problem of continuing vocational training of specialists, employed in enterprises in the IT- sector in Bulgaria.
