Abstract: The scientific article aims to examine the impact of online tourism platforms on the various players in the tourist market – tourists, tourist companies and the population. The emphasis is placed on the opportunities the internet provides for the tourism industry. Particular attention is paid to the use of social networks as a factor for the development of online tourism. Examples of online tourism platforms and their contribution to the development of the tourism industry are outlined. The author defends the thesis that online tourism platforms have a positive effect on all participants in the tourism market.
