Commuting Distances and Labour Market Areas: Some Preliminary Insights from a Spatial Model of Job Search

Abstract: A spatial model of job search is developed. From this model some results that are important in the analysis of commuting distances and labour market interaction are highlighted. The discussion focuses on the spatial weights matrix and functional form in empirical work.
