Wissenschaft in der Entrepreneurial University - feminisiert und abgewertet?

Brigitte Aulenbacher, Kristina Binner, Birgit Riegraf and Lena Weber

WSI-Mitteilungen, 2012, vol. 65, issue 6, 405-411

Abstract: The metaphor ‘Entrepreneurial University’ stands for a new format in the organisation of science. Competitive orientation, managerial steering, the weakening of professional issues, progressive devaluation und the deregulation of employment relationships are catchwords from the restructuring process and the scientific reflection on the development. At the same time science is opening up to women on a new scale. Against the background of this constellation the article asks whether we are being faced with another variation of the well-known process of the devaluing and feminisation of work. It is shown that the situation is more ambiguous and a broader view is necessary to achieve an overall understanding of the process.
