Prosperität, Depression und ökonomische Theorien

Abstract:
Europe’s path towards the big crisis commenced 45 years ago. All the important stages resulted from the application of neo-liberal demands. This includes the unleashing of the financial markets (from the role of fixed exchange rates to “let your money work” as guiding principles), the “liberalisation” of employee protection, the reduction of wages and unemployment benefit and the weakening of the welfare state. The development is achieved in alternating steps: first a problem is created, then as a practical constraint the neo-liberal therapy is intensified. The therapists do not recognise that this is the actual ailment.
