Global Processes of Transnationalization and Russian Business

Abstract: The paper considers the main stages of formation of multinational corporations, their role in international financial flows, fight against governmental protectionism and overcoming protective barriers of regional integration groups. It makes a systematic overview of the theories of multinational business and discusses their applicability for studies of transnationaization in the global economy. The paper specially emphasises the specifics of formation of the first Russian multinationals. It offers a taxonomy of factors, supporting the globalization of Russian business, as well as an assessment of its impact on economic development of Russia.
