Abstract: Developing and implementing local administrative policies is a major issue for regional development. In this context the paper examines the issues involving the application of information technologies as part of local administration and policy. Such a study is important with a view to the extension of the electronic services for citizens and businesses, as well as to the development of the concept of information society. On the basis of such an analysis, conclusions and directions for future development are formulated.
