Abstract: The paper searches for the answer to the question What are the main reasons for the formation of the contemporary Bulgarian human values?. The usage of some ‘traditional’ statistical methods and also non-conventional ones such as the structural equation modeling, in combination with data from the ESS representative national survey, provides a solid basis for a thorough analysis of the complex system of relations and interconnections between observed and latent types of variables. The results from the performed analyses are convincing and provide sufficient evidence for the adequate decision making process.
