Abstract: The Swedish government decided on 16 December 2004 to shut down the second nuclear power plant at Barsebäck on 31 May 2005. The decision was made pursuant to the 1997 Act on the Phasing-out of Nuclear Power (see Nuclear Law Bulletin No. 61).
