Abstract:
Cyprus, once upon a time an attractive international business and financial centre, faced its collapse almost in the same time with the neighbouring Greece. Although a small island, Cyprus succeeded to attract assets accounted to eight times its GDP. Considering it one of the most successful offshore centres in Europe, the dilemma is what should we assimilate to it: tax evasion or tax avoidance.
