Abstract: In a new, ever-changing world, where liberal principles have given fresh wings to European society and inspired generations raised under the former Soviet Union, a political leader from Eastern Europe challenges the current international order and interprets progress as social decadence. President Vladimir Putin has positioned himself in opposition to Western values and declared war on them.
