Abstract: The following article carries out an analysis from the grounded theory of the conceptualization carried out by some studies on rural community tourism. This review is carried out based on research strategies such as theoretical sampling and the constant comparison method, with the purpose of highlighting the main relationships, articulations and conceptualizations in the field of studies on rural community tourism. This discussion allows us to clarify the limits and scope when addressing different research within this emerging field of knowledge. Rather than strengthening this field with the discourses of sustainable tourism, it is advisable to achieve higher levels of specificity in the theories and methodologies that can be used in this field of knowledge that links the rural in its connection with the community
