Abstract: भारत सन 2022 में आजादी की 75 वीं वर्षगांठ मना रहा है। इन 75 सालों में देश ने अच्छी प्रगति की है, लेकिन इस बीच सामाजिक असमानता को पाटा नही जा सका है। अन्य मोर्चों के अलावा इसे विभिन्न समुदायों की जीवन-प्रत्याशा के अंतर में देखा जा सकता है। भारत में दलित, अन्य पिछड़ा वर्ग और आदिवासियों की जीवन प्रत्याशा उच्च सामाजिक वर्गों की तुलना में बहुत कम है। यह लेख इसी विषय पर चर्चा करता है तथा बताता है कि कोविड महामारी के दौरान भी सबसे अधिक मार इन्हीं कमजोर सामाजिक समूहों पर पड़ी।
