Abstract:
We develop a toolbox approach to analysing harmonic signals. The methodology that is pursued in this discussion is based on interpolating signals with Chebyshev polynomials. This approach provides the basis for transforming the initial input signal into another signal based on the input by using the analytic properties of harmonic functions and Chebyshev polynomials. This methodology has significant benefits when attempting to analyse difficult problems such as characterising harmonic signals where data has been collected over a fraction of a cycle, and it has significant ramifications for the analysis of noise and the measurement uncertainties that are associated with a signal.
