Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the influence of advertising and Word of Mouth (WOM) for to Padang State STIE “KBP” student buying interest on simpati sim card . This study includedthe of causative research. The population of this study is Padang State STIE “KBP” studentwho has not been using the simpati sim card. The sampling method using proporsionalsampling. Furthermore, by using the formula is Slovin, then elected a sample size of 100people. The analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis using SPSS version 16.0.The results based on multiple regression analysis showed that: (1) advertising significantlyinfluence student buying interest State STIE “KBP” of Padang on IM3 sim card, (2) Word ofMouth (WOM) significantly influence student buying interest State STIE “KBP” of Padang onsimpati sim card.
