Abstract:
Colombia’s labor law and social security system offers a robust foundation for comprehensive care protection policies for family caregivers and domestic workers. However, the system does not cover the informal sector, therefore leaving out more than half of the country’s working population from receiving care-related benefits. Colombia’s policy regime for caregivers and careworkers is rated on the low end of the “Maturing” band under the Global Care Policy Index (GCPI).
