Abstract: In this work, We analyze the actual situation of Mexico about the investment in Research and Development. We use actual data to give a better context and we identify several problems that must be resolved. The main topics that we analyzed are focused on employment in Research and Development, the brain drain effect, the situation about the patents in Mexico and the analysis of maquiladora-industry and how is related to Research and Development investment.
