Abstract: This working paper describes the process through which I created, developed and improved a data repository for data and code used to replicate our paper titled "Use of Death Counts from Vital Statistics to Calculate Excess Deaths in Puerto Rico Following Hurricane Maria". The repository can be accessed here: https://alexisrsantos.github.io/Deaths_Puerto_Rico_JAMA/. It also documents the opportunities and challenges of engaging in this endeavor.
