候選人學歷對得票率的影響——以台灣 2018 年直轄市議員選舉為例

Abstract: The educational background and academic achievements of political candidates were the focus of attention during the 2022 local elections in Taiwan. The extent to which this attention was motivated by issue hype or whether a candidate's education truly affects his or her vote count is a topic of particular interest. It can be observed that many Taiwanese political candidates tend to emphasize their educational background in their campaign literature, and continuing education programs are commonly attended among current politicians. From this perspective, it appears that Taiwanese political candidates consider educational qualifications to be an important factor in their election strategy. However, whether this selection bias exists or not requires empirical research for analysis. It has been observed that there is a need in Taiwan's legal practice to quantify the impact of educational background. This study uses multiple regression analysis as the main tool to quantify the relevant indicators, starting from the 2018 election for city councilors in Taiwan.
