Abstract:
This article discusses real-world projects using algorithms to match resettled refugees with sponsors and services. It argues that ethically informed algorithmic matching can support larger-scale and better-informed resettlement while avoiding simplistic techno-sceptical or techno-optimistic framings. The article emphasizes the dual-use function of technology in international mobility and the importance of ethical design.
