Abstract:
This study analyzes the mechanical behavior of large-scale highway billboards under lateral wind loads using finite element analysis and model testing. It emphasizes the importance of improving the torsion resistance of billboard structures to mitigate potential failures during high wind conditions. The research identifies the most critical wind load directions across three scenarios and examines the relationship between structural stiffness, mass distribution, and failure modes. The findings offer valuable insights for optimizing the design of highway billboards, particularly in enhancing their wind resistance. These results serve as a reference for engineering designs.
