British Higher Education in the World League

Gareth Williams

Oxford Review of Economic Policy, 1992, vol. 8, issue 2, 146-58

Abstract: This article examines a number of international indicators of higher education performance mainly from the viewpoint of the British higher education system. The main indicators are enrollments ratios, costs per student and per graduate and proportions of GDP devoted to higher education. In addition there is a more qualitative comparative discussion of the higher education systems of Japan, the United States, and European Community countries.
