Chapter 5 in Barbara Bergmann, 2026, pp 103-136 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Bergmann’s contribution to economic methodology was centered on three interconnected aspects: a more empirical approach to the real dynamics behind decision-making; her critique of the New Home Economics methodology, particularly its reliance on rational-choice theory and formalized equilibrium models based on maximization; and her promotion of computer microsimulation, aimed at providing a robust microfoundation for macroeconomics.
