Economic Policy in Post-Conflict Societies

Paul Collier

Chapter 3 in Post-Conflict Economies in Africa, 2005, pp 45-56 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Once a civil war has ended, what economic policies should a society adopt? Should institutions such as the World Bank, which provide policy advice, recommend policies that are distinctive because the society is post-conflict? Should donors modify their own policies — notably their rules of aid allocation — so as to make special provision for countries that are post-conflict?
