Reply by Professor Scitovsky to the Comments on his Paper
Paul Samuelson
A chapter in International Economic Relations, 1969, pp 268-269 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Professor Scitovsky said he thought there had been less disagreement than the speakers had claimed. In his paper, he had simply wanted to explore, as an intellectual exercise, what could be done for the world economy if one increased reserves alone and did nothing else. He therefore had no quarrel with Professor Sohmen and Professor Lindbeck when they suggested better methods.
