Chapter 4 in The Economic Development of Bangladesh within a Socialist Framework, 1974, pp 67-139 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The size of the First Five Year Plan of Bangladesh and the potentiality for future growth will be determined by the availability of resources for development. Before formulating the plan it is necessary to carry out a careful assessment of the resources that can be mobilised from within and outside the country. This is important in view of the fact that, like other developing countries, Bangladesh suffers from a vicious circle of poverty with low levels of income and saving.
