Chapter 7 in Methods of Long-term Planning and Forecasting, 1976, pp 142-170 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Comprehensive systems of planning and forecasting in Yugoslavia— and by the same token long-range planning and forecasting—are built-in organisms which are characterised by three basic features of the Yugoslav socialist society and economy: Yugoslavia is a small country; it is a multinational country; there is an unlimited supply of manpower. Only a closer examination of these three dominant characteristics of the Yugoslav national economy will permit a complete understanding of the basic lines and methods of planning and forecasting in this country. Therefore we shall give special consideration to the implications of the fact that Yugoslavia is a small and multinational country, while the problem of an unlimited supply of manpower will be considered throughout.
