Abstract:
Abstract This paper is devoted to an analysis of the problem of absorption of the educated in gainful employment in Pakistan. In Section I, the salient features of the education system are presented with a view to depicting the supply side of the market for the educated. In Section II, an analysis of the strategy of development is attempted to highlight the changing character of the demand for the educated. In the concluding Section, the need for setting priorities in education in the context of rational economic policies is emphasized.
